چکیده

We have performed scanning gate microscopy (SGM) on graphene field effect transistors (GFET) using a biased metallic nanowire coated with a dielectric layer as a contact mode tip and local top gate. Electrical transport through graphene at various back gate voltages is monitored as a function of tip voltage and tip position. Near the Dirac point, the response of graphene resistance to the tip voltage shows significant variation with tip position, and SGM imaging displays mesoscopic domains of electron-doped and hole-doped regions. Our measurements reveal substantial spatial fluctuation in the carrier density in graphene due to extrinsic local doping from sources such as metal contacts, graphene edges, structural defects and resist residues. Our scanning gate measurements also demonstrate graphene's excellent capability to sense the local electric field and charges.

Charge transfer and electronic doping in nitrogen-doped graphene

Understanding the modification of the graphene's electronic structure upon doping is crucial for enlarging its potential applications. We present a study of nitrogen-doped graphene samples on SiC(000) combining angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The comparison between tunneling and angle-resolved ...

Local electronic properties of graphene on a BN substrate via scanning tunneling microscopy.

The use of boron nitride (BN) as a substrate for graphene nanodevices has attracted much interest since the recent report that BN greatly improves the mobility of charge carriers in graphene compared to standard SiO(2) substrates. We have explored the local microscopic properties of graphene on a BN substrate using scanning tunneling microscopy. We find that BN substrates result in extraordinar...

The effect of doping Graphene Quantum Dots with K, B, N, and Cl on its emitted spectrum

In this work, the effect of doping Graphene Quantum Dots (GQDs) on their emission spectra has been studied. First, graphene has been deposited on SiC substrate by using sublimation method. Second, doped-GQDs have been distributed on the surface of graphene via drop casting. The structure of the samples have been studied and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy ...

Synthesis and structural properties of Mn-doped ZnO/Graphene nanocomposite

Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a promising metal oxide semiconductor with various applications, especially in the photocatalytic destruction of environmental pollutants. However, this nanoparticle has some limitations, such as poor dispersion, aggregation, and a wide energy gap. As such, the doping of metal oxide semiconductor has been strongly recommended. Addition of manganese (Mn) has proven effective ...
